BBC Radio 4 to cut back on short stories
This news is pretty rubbish:
In a press release issued on the 6th July, the BBC announced that from spring 2012, the number of short stories it broadcasts on Radio 4 will be reduced from three to one a week.
Part of the reason I switched from writing short stories to the novel was because I knew it would be incredibly difficult to get a first collection published.
And yet this news seems such a shame because I think the format is becoming – and will become – very popular again, what with our busy lifestyles and silly, short attention spans.
Society of Authors suggest doing something about all this. Consider that petition signed.
