Bob Stein on SocialBook
Bob Stein opens Tools of Change Frankfurt by talking about his new project, SocialBook:
The first aim of SocialBook is to read with people you know – primarily a selected group. Social Book also recognizes that there is also a wider community of readers who are reading the same document, so it enables readers to see other group notes on the same ‘book’. Readers call also engage with expert analysis and he demonstrates that there is no reason why the author can’t be ‘part’ of the book via live readings and so on.
Frankfurt sounds so interesting this year. I know I don’t actually work in publishing, but by crikey I wish I was there at the moment.
SocialBook sounds very interesting too. I’m only just getting into the whole social reading thing myself and already I can see the benefits. The idea of being able to share thoughts and opinions with a select group of people who are reading at the same time sounds ace. It’s the future, people. Buckle up.
