'Epic just got bite-sized'

Sean Platt and David Wright have been active members of the online writing community for the last few years, working together on a range of projects. Their latest is pretty interesting – serialised ebooks.

Here’s the strapline from Serialized Fiction, home to their new Yesterday’s Gone series:

Epic just got bite-sized. 100 pages of post-apocalyptic fiction, with killer WTF endings. Every month.

It certainly sounds exciting. I rather like the idea of putting work out there episodically, though I’m not sure if the chaps have material stored up or if they’re writing as they go. The latter sounds both risky and, for me at least, slightly terrifying.

Still, it’s an interesting approach and a good way of building a readership steadily, rather than launching something and hoping it sells. Then having nowhere to go if it doesn’t.

I’ll be keeping an eye out to see how the project gets on.
