Is reading on the loo bad for you?

Fascinating stuff from the Guardian:

Shaoul concluded that reading on the toilet is widespread, alleviates boredom, and is ultimately harmless. This rings true to Curtis. “I always have New Scientist by the toilet. I use it as distraction therapy. I don’t particularly want to think about crapping.”

I’m about to share too much.

I’ve always read on the toilet, especially when I was growing up. I loved reading so much that, frankly, any time spent without my nose in a book was time wasted. I carried those things with me everywhere. Including the bathroom.

I still read on the toilet, but these days it’s because it fixes me in a position where I’m unable to procrastinate or do something less useful (apart from the obvious). To all those people who claim they never have enough time to read? Learn to multitask.

I did warn you about the sharing.
