Pen.io: Publish & Share Anything Online, Fast!

Pen.io is an extremely simple publishing platform. It pretty much renders pages as plain text, which means the focus is always on what you write, rather than how it looks (though I think it looks great).

I actually discovered Pen.io a couple of months ago and have been meaning to write about it here on Write for Your Life ever since. However, Chris Jackson over at Fuel Your Writing has beaten me to it with this great overview:

The focus of Pen.io is firmly on the content: what you choose to write. And what you choose to write with Pen.io can literally be anything. Many people use it to share snappy, funny comments or jokes. You could write “blog” posts with this way. Perhaps write an online letter to someone, and then send it to its recipient via the URL. Or maybe you want to just write something for yourself, you can do that. Just don’t direct anybody to the page.

Though I haven’t got any reason to use Pen.io at the moment myself, I can see lots of potential uses for it in the future. It seems perfect for one-off essays that are too long for blog posts, for example. And absolutely ideal if you want to post a short story or a novel extract, either for public consumption or to send to a group for feedback.

Whatever, if you’re looking for a way to publish quickly and easily on the web, Pen.io is worth checking out.
