In this episode of the podcast I talk to poet and Publicity Chief for The O’Brien Press, Donna Sørensen.

Sending your work to literary agents, publishers and journals can be such a tricky business and often quite daunting. But there are a few things you can do (including what you’re told) to make the submission process easier.

If you’re thinking or worried about submitting your writing to some place or another, I think you’ll find our chit-chat useful. I’m happy to try and answer any further questions (if I can) in the comments below, of course.

We also talk about our favourite thing of the last couple of weeks. I go for the Do Lectures, whereas Donna opts for a priest on a bicycle. We also talk about the recent furore over how to accept criticism. I have a bit of a rant. But it’s a positive rant. Naturally.

Feedback welcome and enjoy!

Note: Sorry about the horseplay in the first 90 seconds. It gets better.

I know, aren’t they fantastic? I’ve no idea why I hadn’t heard of them before, but I’ll be working my way through them all over the coming weeks and months. Wish I could go, but they’re rather pricey …
