In this latest podcast I talk about writing confidence, including how to deal with a lack of it and what you can do to get your confidence back. It ties in nicely with last week’s video episode about being positive about your work.

This is the second in this new series of podcast where we (or in this case I) talk around a specific theme. Feel free to leave ideas for future themes in the comments below. All feedback welcome, as always!

How do you deal with dips in your writing confidence? Can you shake it off and carry on or do you have a special routine for getting your mojo back to where it belongs? Let us know in the comments below.

    Nice episode, Iain.

It’s sad so many writers act as their own worst enemy. Kicking yourself when you’re down isn’t going to make you any better at your craft (unless you’re a poet – kidding).

    • Iain Broome says:

It’s true but we all do it. When you’re feeling low, that’s the time to have as much resolve as you can possibly muster. It’s really hard, but perfectly normal!

      Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, it happened to me once….it took me months to be back to normal…

    • Iain Broome says:

I think that’s quite common, actually. Once your confidence is gone it can be very difficult to get it back, so the challenge is to try and prepare yourself for the knocks and realise that everything is temporary. There will be good writing days and bad writing days – it’s the nature of the beast.
