Your Writing Journal

George Angus over at Tumblemoose:

Suppose you kept a journal that logged every writing event you accomplished. If I had done that when I first started blogging and freelancing three years ago I would have well over a thousand entries.

Me too, I guess. And I think it’s a lovely idea. How would it work?

Your writing journal could have entries for the date, type of writing (blog post, SEO article, novel chapter) word count and even a brief description of what inspired the article. I think it would make for a very interesting read at some point in the future.

There’s part of me that thinks this might be another distraction that gets in the way of the actual writing. But there’s another part that regrets not keeping track of what I’ve done and where I’m going in a way that feels tangible. Like a permanent record that’s for me alone. A personal archive.
